Shelby Lynne.

Born and raised in sunny California. Unfortunately.
Spent childhood indoors, doing seances. Alone.
Kicked out of girl scouts for poisoning cookies. Allegedly.
Began playing drums. Hard.
Expelled from public school for performing exorcisms on fellow [unwilling] classmates.
Attended all-girls reform school; met Olivia Jean & Ruby Rogers.
Formed dark alliance.

Hobbies & interests: Stealing. Cheating. Secret Societies. Serial Killers. Russian Tragedies. Shark Attacks. Blood & Guts.

Ruby Rogers.

Ruby, an atypical Mississippi belle was largely ostracized by her peers due to her unusual taste and appearance. Ruby learned at an early age to amuse herself and be what some consider a loner. Her family encouraged her musically since childhood. Her propensity for dark, heavy music & love for early rock and roll led her further into alienation. A lover of the arts, she enjoys literature, comic books, drawing, and film photography. Due to her affinity for nature, mysticism, tarot, herbology and astrology, she was rumored to be a practitioner of witchcraft.

Upon her mother discovering a dead bird in her purse & her negligence of playing well with others, Ruby was sent to boarding school.However, that is where she found others just like her.

Olivia Jean.

Olivia Jean is a creature native to Detroit, Michigan. Years ago in Detroit she began a solo surf band named “Idee Fixe” to conceal any suspicions towards her exercises in witchcraft and voodooism. She has since migrated to Nashville, Tennessee to be with creatures that share similar interest, otherwise known as The Black Belles. Olivia Jean is a notorious creature that’s feared throughout the world and she generally has a bad reputation for being very aggressive and highly venemous. Her bouffant and hat weaken the use of her ears and morals, therefore when threatened she will display aggression with a set of signals that warn of the possibility of an attack.
WARNINGS: If you come in contact with Olivia Jean do not operate motor vehicles or heavy machinery within the succedent 24 – 48 hours.
SIDE EFFECTS: Many people who come in contact with Olivia Jean may experience serious, sometimes fatal side effects. Nausea, vomiting, headache, unusual changes in body temperature, vertigo, and slurred speech are very common. If you experience any of these side effects contact your doctor hastily.

Tina NoGood.

Born Christina Norwood. Was not always a bad seed. She grew up in Nashville, TN, where she attended private schools and studied classical piano at a prestigious conservatory. She was elected freshman class president of the all-girls prep school she attended. However, she spent most of her presidency in detention and was later kicked out for vandalism. Since then, she has strictly been up to no good.

Tina met the Black Belles on a dead moon night. They bonded over a love for killer heels and leather. Tina was inducted into the group during a candlelit midnight ceremony the following night. Since then, the girls have been playing music and growing ever–paler in Olivia Jean’s attic.
When Tina is not playing music, she can be found slashing tires, breaking bottles, kicking over trashcans, starting food fights and making boys cry. Her interests include the supernatural, the occult, shenanigans, pranks, and general mischief.

BLACK MEKON:

These two vicious bastards (Black Mekon and his brother Black Mekon) were named after the legendary Black Mekong, illegitimate children of prostitutes visited by missionary preachers, abandoned to fend for themselves on the banks of The Mekong River.

Raised in a whorehouse by drunk dockworkers in a town called Christ’s Gasoline, they were born with only one arm between them and grew up selling sand to sailors and wrestling vermin and wives for the amusement of the locals. The rest of their upbringing is steeped in myth and told mostly in sea shanties, according to legend they escaped on a raft made of old Cramps and Doo Rag 45s using John Lee Hooker and Pussy Galore vinyl to paddle themselves to more familiar shores.

Somewhere along the line they acquired 3 more arms, a gypsy curse, drumsticks and a guitar, and ran into a fellow bluesman on the lam, Stunt Pussy, who agreed to help them whenever they needed to sing for their supper.

The live show? Blistering in-the-red punk blues, their travelling club (The Tight Pussy) has graced shores all over Europe and the US, 3 successful tours of South America and has designs on planting itself firmly in your lap next.

“We do not sing tales for tales sake, we can only approach this at 300mph with no regard for personal safety or truth. Your party needs us, as every good party does, for insecurity, tightrope-ing and hot lava. Black Mekon is your daddy, baby.”

COLDRICE SAYS:

Black Mekon began as art. Their very first show was projected onto a wall at a ColdRice show (the assholes didn’t even grace us with their presence), they shrouded themselves in mystery providing only a web page with audio and a logo (no photos or biog or contact) and they refused any communication with the outside world. They weren’t being pretentious, it was because Black Mekon was simply art for art’s sake, there was no need for any of the the other baggage that comes with being a rock n’ roll band. But somehow since then they have toured Europe, USA and South America several times. So I guess the message from Black Mekon is obvious… don’t try.

Back in the UK after a lengthy absence, Black Mekon will be kicking things off and warming up to make 2012 the year of BM. Why will 2012 be the year of Black Mekon? They will be the stars of our very first 7 inch record club ’Black Mekon vs…’ and the stars of a genuine live action movie, and that’s just for starters!
There’s no better band to light the fuse on this party, and they will take the stage no later than 6pm so don’t be late!!

You’ve been treated to the Swampmeat Allstars over the last year and now it’s time to go back to basics as Danny and T-Bird remind you why they are your favourite good-time duo, hitting you in your dancing feet with all of their rockin’ good classics.

JERRY TROPICANO
These plucky young upstarts have charmed us more and more each time we see them and we’re so glad they could come along with the Sex Beet brothers and celebrate becoming part of the extended family.

Like Jerry T these local cats continue to impress us and we want to share with you why we think the Cedar House Band will be a band to keep an eye on over the next year!

MR. DAVID VINER
The first of our out of town stepchildren, Viner has always delivered and this year was no different as he blew us away with one of the best albums of the year ’Better In Than Out’. It simply wouldn’t be a ColdRice celebration without an appearance by our favourite troubadour Mr. David Viner!

SEX BEET
What can we say about our  Sex Beet that you don’t already know? Born in a storm, they’ve embodied everything ColdRice stand for, effortlessly going from strength to strength kicking ass all over the world. They’ll start next year recording their debut album in Berlin with King Khan and if you haven’t already go help them by buying their proto-album here.

THE BIG BANG
For one night only our very first children The Big Bang will be reforming to play all of the hits from their first album ‘Shoot The Freak’. If there was any doubt that this party was going to be something special, this should put rest to that.

The godfathers of ColdRice making their first appearance in over a year, topping the whole cake with their rock n’ soul cherry.
