SEX BEET

COLDRICE SAYS:

These cats have literally grown up in front of our eyes. As a snotty 16 year old Luke used to sneak into early ColdRice shows and tell us “you need to put my fookin band on”, we would give him some more liquor and tell him to come back later. Since then Sex Beet have become the living embodiment of ColdRice’s dreams, the perfect lo-fi-garage-surf-punk band of youths you could ever wish to see. We couldn’t be more proud if they were actually our children, and we are extremely lucky to count them among our troops. If we even had the tiniest of influence in the creation of this band, everything we have done is worthwhile.

BIO:

Sex Beet started in early 2009, when three drunk 20 year olds from Leicester decided they had nothing better to do. Within less than a year, two records had been released, France and Belgium had been toured twice, and shows around the UK with bands such as Black Lips, Thee Oh Sees and King Khan & The Shrines were leaving increasingly larger hangovers.

Summer 2010 saw Sex Beet tour the UK with The Strange Boys, the release of their third 7″, another European adventure, a live session on Marc Riley’s BBC  6-Music show, and the survival of their first trip to America- playing several shows in New York and at the Vice/Scion Garage Fest in Kansas.

In their words: “Somehow, we’ve spent the past two years touring the UK, Europe and America, with bands such as Best Coast and The Strange Boys, picking up rave reviews such as “Surprisingly Tolerable” (newyorkrockmarket.com) and “Sort of Good” (altsounds.com.) We also have some OK records out, you can find out where to buy them from PNKSLM , if you really want.”
